Joseph Buries Jesus
A Jewish leader called Joseph, asked Pilate if he could bury Jesus. After the soldiers made sure that Jesus had died, Joseph and Nicodemus took Jesus’s body off the cross. They wrapped the body in linen and put Him in a new tomb, cut out of rock. They rolled a big stone over the entrance of the tomb.
The Jewish leaders were sure that this was the end of Jesus. Some of them remembered that Jesus mentioned He would raise from the dead the third day. This is why Jesus’s tomb was guarded and so that no one would steal the body.
