In love

Lust is not love

Just the boys?

No, not only boys lure to accomplish their own goals. There are also girls who do this.

In the Bible we have the example of Potiphar's wife who was attracted, in love with Joseph, and who was following him, saying “come to bed with me!” (Read Genesis 39:7-20.) When she saw that she could not achieve her goal, she accused Joseph and he ended up being unjustly imprisoned.

Caught in the middle of this sinful plan, Joseph sees no solution but to escape. Saying that he could not “do such a wicked thing and sin against God” (Genesis 39:9), he even gives up his coat, risking, as a servant, even his life.

God created us differently as girls and boys. And our sinful nature urges us to use these differences in order to fulfil our sinful desires. The boys say what the girls want to HEAR and the girls show what the boys want to SEE.

When you notice that this sinful trap is in your path, do not hesitate to follow Joseph's example. In fact, Paul also gives Timothy and all of us this wise and worthy advice:

“Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

2 Timothy 2:22

If you're a boy, ask yourself what is the purpose behind what you say. If you're a girl, ask yourself what is the purpose behind your behaviour and actions. What would you like to get by the way you dress?
