Exodus, chapter 34, verse 6
And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness… “
God said these five things about Himself:
1) He is Compassionate, which means that he feels sorry when someone is in trouble and helps him.
2) Gracious means that he behaves kindly, even though he could command.
3) Slow to anger means he is not strict.
4) Abounding in love means that he forgives more than we deserve.
5) Faithful means that he loves us even if we do not obey.
And then God said, “Behold, I make a covenant with you.”
