Joey, John, Ping and Tara were very excited. John’s dad was taking them to a parade. When they got there he told them to hold hands and stay close to him. There were lots of people and he didn’t want them to get lost.

There was so much to see! Marching bands went by. The big drums were the boys’ favorite. The girls liked the trumpets. There were men and women riding horses. A big fire truck came by. The firemen waved at them!

There were also big trucks with people on a trailer. These were called floats. Some floats had people dressed like people from the children’s favorite shows. Some floats had animals on them. When the floats went by everyone clapped.

There was one float that was playing songs about Jesus. The children liked that float.

Clowns walked by. They gave sweets to all the children watching the parade. John and Joey got sweets to share with Ping and Tara.

When the parade was over the children went home to tell their mommies and daddies all the fun things they had seen.
