The Lamb of God
Apart from the Lord Jesus, everyone who lived on Earth broke one or all the commandments of God.
When God gave these commandments to Moses, He knew that this would happen. Together with the commandments, God gave Moses some other important laws. He told Moses that the people were to bring a lamb as an offering to God. Those lambs were dying in their place for their sins.
The death of the lambs was a picture of what the Lord Jesus, the Son of God, was to do hundreds of years later. This is why the Lord Jesus is called the Lamb of God. He came to Earth to live a perfect, sinless life, and then die on the cross for our sins.
