The crowd of people saw Jesus riding on a donkey and coming into the town. They were excited. The people put down their coats and branches from palm trees for the donkey to walk on. They also waved branches in the air. They shouted, “Blessed is the King!” They were praising God. To praise God is to tell Him how great He is. The people were praising God and saying good things about God to others. They wanted Jesus to be their God. They were very happy.

Not everyone was happy. Some people were angry. They told Jesus to tell the people to be quiet and stop praising Him. But Jesus said it was the right thing to do. Do you know that little children were in the parade? Little children were praising. You can praise God too. You can tell God that He is great.
