With the money he would buy something to eat. He could hear the people walking on the road talking. He could smell the flowers. He could taste the food he bought. He could touch the money the people would give him. But he could not see.

One day people came down the road. They were following Jesus . When Bartimaeus heard it was Jesus, he started shouting, “Jesus, have mercy on me!” Bartimaeus wanted Jesus to be kind to him.

Jesus heard Bartimaeus and told the people to bring Bartimaeus to Him. Someone had to lead Bartimaeus to Jesus. He wanted Jesus to make him able to see. Jesus said, “Your faith has made you well.” Jesus healed Bartimaeus! He could see! He could see the trees and flowers. He could see the sun and the clouds. He could see all the people. It was a miracle, something only God , the Creator, could do. Jesus is God the Son with all the power of God. Jesus had the power to create the World.
