Big Change in Lois’ Life
Lois grew up in a family in America. Her home was a bit like Jephthah’s. Lois, too, was unhappy with her family. She was an unwanted child. She did not know who her real dad was. The man who called himself her father did not love her at all. Lois’ mother had even tried to abort her to get rid of her. Lois felt rejected by the whole family. She felt inside that she was no good and worth nothing.
Lois had a lovely voice and she also learned to play the piano. She played really well and she even took part in music competitions. However, her father would never come to see how she did.
Then one day, Lois’ whole life changed. She heard the wonderful news from the Bible that the great God who had made the stars, the world and the whole universe loved her! God loves Lois. That’s what is written in the Bible. We learn that God loved the world (that means everybody in the world) so much that He gave His only Son, the Lord Jesus, to be punished for our sins. Jesus died on the cross so that we could be forgiven, have eternal life and be His children.
“God loves me! I am worth something! I am precious to God!” Lois believed that and asked God to forgive her sins and to accept her into His loving family.
Lois’ family in America were still the same. They still did not love her. But inside Lois was much happier. She was so happy that she started to tell other people about God and about the Lord Jesus. When she grew up and married, she and her husband went off to other countries. Wherever they go they talked to people about the love of God.
Lois could sing beautifully so she did not just have to talk about Jesus. She sang to people about the love of God and her song flew up towards Heaven like a bird.
