“We've been together for a long time, we're engaged and in a little while we'll be husband and wife. We're attracted to each other. What's wrong with us enjoying intimacy a few weeks before we get married?”
Dear young people and teenagers! The intimate sexual relationship is not the invention of man, but is part of God's wonderful creation. Like any other creation of God, sex was made good, for the happiness and good of man. But he put a well-determined limit on sex. This limit begins with “I declare you husband and wife” and ends with “Until death do us part”.
The limit is not from engagement to death, nor from engagement to divorce. The limit is from the day of marriage to the end of life.
Any sexual relationship outside these limits is SIN.
Someone said: “Sex is like a fire, if you use it within the limits for which it was designed (cooker, fireplace, etc.) it becomes a blessing. But using it off limits can create a total disaster and becomes a curse on your life.”
Premarital sexual relationships are outside the limits set by God. And any relationship outside of those limits is a sinful one.
