After they had been travelling for about three months, the Hebrews came to the mountain called Sinai, where through Moses, they received from God commandments (laws) about what is right and what is wrong.

God wrote the Ten Commandments on two stone tablets, with His own finger.

Some of the commandments tell us what to do (what is right), whilst others tell us what not to do (what is wrong).

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, he told the people what God had commanded. God made sure that we would receive these commandments, too.
