Joey was afraid. Joey, his daddy and his mummy moved to a new house. Joey liked the new house. It had a tree with a swing in it. It had a nice yard to play in. Joey had a new room painted his favorite color. But why was Joey afraid?

Joey was afraid because his new room looked scary in the dark. Joey did not want to sleep in the new room. He did not want to go to bed. It was dark. Joey did not like the dark.

Joey wanted a drink of water. His daddy gave him one. Joey wanted one more hug from mummy . She gave him a hug. Joey still did not want to go to bed.

Daddy asked, “Joey, what is wrong?” Joey said, “I don’t want to go to bed.” “Why?” daddy asked. “Because I don’t like the dark. I am afraid,” said Joey.
